From the book Garden Song. Illustration for Psalm 39 – “While I mused, the fire burned”. This painting is about the feeling of passion. Her heart is glowing, and the fiery red echoes what she is experiencing. The word passion comes from the Latin ‘pati’, which means “suffer”. So what we are passionate about is what we are willing to suffer for. I think it is important to let our passions engulf us, like an inferno, because then we are completely transformed and ready to walk in that transformation.
