From the book Garden Song. Illustrating Psalm 82 – “Give justice to the weak”. This painting is about charity and how small acts of kindness and generosity can make a huge difference. The warm colours of the painting mimic the warm feeling that generosity brings, both to the giver and the receiver. There is bright white around the hands and the bread, almost as if it is illuminating the surrounding darkness, as if it is these acts of kindness that light up dark spaces, both in us and around us.
